Now that you’re inside driving mom mad, I’ve for to find you something to do… Oh look videogames... computers. Now I have to work two jobs to feed your need for electronics—lest you go outside and are kidnapped or molested. And the wireless bill. If you go outside I want you to be able to call and be able to call you in a pinch. I also want to know what you are doing every moment, so you have to text me and take video so I know you’re where you’re supposed to be. I don’t have the time to cook you a balanced meal so PIZZA will have to do. Therefore, the cycle starts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560013081646749762.post-8433039043694603982011-06-09T15:58:00.810-04:002011-06-09T15:58:00.810-04:00I think TV has a lot to do with it. You can do something else while listening to the radio — tend to the grill, shoot the breeze, toss a ball (of whatever sort) around — notice how all of those things are what you do outside? With TV, you're rooted to the spot. Conversation gets shushed. You're stuck inside.

Mason isn't quite 2 yet, but he loves to say "OUT!" He loves to explore, and bug bites don't faze him much. Oh, and he LOVES the jungle gym at the county park. He gets *me* outside to keep an eye on him.Larry Kollarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08317037795075278427noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8560013081646749762.post-88091000481785447422011-06-09T15:36:02.862-04:002011-06-09T15:36:02.862-04:00I honestly blame it on technology. All those thing...I honestly blame it on technology. All those things you listed above are reasons in itself. Parents no longer show an interest when the television, computer, or even teachers can parent part-time.

No one slows down anymore it's a consumer consumption race. Far easier to go out to eat, than cook a meal and have family time or a cook out. Who leaves their phone at home anymore.

I'm not 'that' old but I do remember a time when you went to the store, the park, a road trip and didn't need to be connected. Whatever anyone needed from you could wait a few hours until you got back home.

Time is what's wrong. No one takes the time for the little things anymore. I'm not sure people remember how. (Hugs) IndigoSage Ravenwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17143502548162174269noreply@blogger.com
